Band conversion is arithmetic and reliable. Cup naming is a convention that varies by brand – always check the retailer’s own chart before ordering.

Cup letters carry across unchanged
Australian cup sizing follows the British sequence, including doubled letters. There is nothing to translate: UK FF is AU FF, UK GG is AU GG.

Worked example
A UK 32F:
- Band: 32 − 22 = AU 10.
- Cup: F stays F.
- Australian size: AU 10F, with 8FF and 12E as sister sizes.
The practical catch
The conversion is trivial; the availability is not. UK specialist brands grade further up the alphabet and cut cups deeper than most Australian high-street ranges at the same label. If you have been buying UK specialist bras and switch to an Australian chain at the converted size, expect the cup to feel shallower even though the letters match.
Check the fit, not just the label
A converted size is the size to try on first. Run the seven fit checks before deciding whether it worked, and note your sister sizes in case the band is off.
